Production goals:

Aquaculture, Herbs, Orchard, Vegetable production, Woodlot or forest products. More info: Some annual veggie production, but ultimately desiring long term perennial fruit and nut crops, mushroom, native medicinal herb forest products, possibly animals of some kind, light forest management for woodlot.

Personal experience and production goals summary:

Managed the mixed vegetable operation at Bee Tree Farm in Mars Hill from 2012-2015. All organic and biodynamic crop production and management. Managed 25 member CSA share-program and 2 tailgate markets a week (West Asheville/French Broad Co-Op and Woodfin YMCA winter market). Started and managed 150 logs for Shiitake and Oyster mushroom production. Constructed Hoop Houses. Grew year round with season extension techniques in un-heated hoop houses. Studied Sustainable Agriculture at Warren Wilson College! Currently a salesperson and crew member for Fifth Season Gardening in Asheville. I educate and help all customers find the products they're looking for: lights and other indoor growing supplies, organic soil amendments, fertilizers, and potting mixes, compost tea ingredients, hydroponic inputs, potting trays and pots, brewing and cheese making supplies, organic pesticides. Looking for land that can be a place to really put some long term roots down. Ultimately interested in establishing perennial polyculture systems (Food forests, forest gardening, keyline agriculture and alleycropping) A place that could be an agricultural sanctuary to practice and experiment with a variety of permaculture projects!
