Personal experience and production goals summary:
I have, in recent years, begun '"urban gardening," in my transition from an urban to an agrarian lifestyle. My goal is to model self-sufficiency for my children by living naturally. And I would be remiss to not admit that I look forward to the peace and independence. My agricultural experience is limited. I have taken classes and plan to continue to growth academically in that area. I have been formally educated; however, I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics and Religious Studies from Occidental College in Los Angeles, CA; a Master of Arts degree in English and Literature from Holy Names University in Oakland, CA; and a Master of Education degree with an emphasis in Organizational Leadership and Supervision from University of Phoenix.
I am a seasoned organizational leader and business manager with over ten years of supervisory experience. I am presently a caterer and event planner. Additionally, I work as an online college English instructor, and an educational consultant. I was a school principal for 9 years. During the 2015-2016 school year this role required her to oversee a $3.6 million budget, 807 students and 67 employees.
I am a single mother with three children who are really looking forward to raising animals. As new farmers, we would like a farm with a market garden or smaller, flower gardens; as well as space for chickens, 1-5 cows, 1-3 pigs and maybe bees! We do eventually want to have horses.
My goal is for my family to have land of our own for generations.
