Looking for the following:

Type of opportunity:

Sale (Standard), Sale (Owner Financed), Lease (1 to 5 Years), Lease with Option to Buy, Internship / Mentorship, Business Partnership. More info: I'm looking to start a small, intensive organic vegetable operation for sale to restaurants and farmers markets, and/or a CSA, or possibly to partner with someone doing the same. Have several years experience on an organic farm, as well as a history of landscaping and building. Basically, I'm a hard worker and a lover of growing great food, who simply needs land to do it on.

Equipment & infrastructure:

Well / Pond / Other water source. More info: Access to water is important, either a well on site, or access to city water (existing, or having the city hook something up there myself). I don't need anything else provided. But I would want to build a small semi-temporary greenhouse and/or hoop house, and possibly an on site processing station/storage area: mainly just a covered area with tables and a hose for cleaning veggies and a place to store tools. Simple structures that could be moved/removed easily in the future by myself.

Current production on farm:

More info: I need the land free of trees but otherwise I can handle converting it to a crop growing state

Qualifications and goals:

Previous farming experience:

Volunteer, Employee, Manager

Number of years experience:

4

Production goals:

Herbs, Vegetable production. More info: I plan to have a lot of fast-to-harvest crops like greens, turnips, beets, and radishes, possibly microgreens, things with high turnover for a more constant cash-flow and adaptability to market demands; as well as long yielding crops such as tomatoes, kale, and peppers. Also important to me is high efficiency, including using space to the maximum with interplanting and high rotations. All done with organic growing methods, for local distribution via direct-market sales.

Personal experience and production goals summary:

I've worked for three years on an organic farm here in the NC Piedmont, including a year and a half as field manager for vegetable production. I have other volunteer experience in farming, as well as several years of work on landscaping and construction crews. I'm interested in growing high quality organic vegetables for local markets, restaurants, and other direct-marketing streams. I also would like to have a small nursery area, for growing seedlings/starts for sale, and perhaps in the future perennial plants and trees for landscaping and food production purposes.
